One stop to Poble-Sec, Barcelona

You are probably wondering: “Poble Sec? I have never heard about it before until I was looking for a huge amount of information about Barcelona”. Well, let me tell you that it’s totally possible because isn’t a neighborhood so popular in Barcelona since one year ago (approximately).

Poble Sec has experienced a renovation not only in its buildings but also in the way of life of its habitants. It’s a place located next to Montjuic, Plaza España and also next to the city center (15 min walking from Las Ramblas).  So, it’s also a great place to stay during your holiday.

Mercat de Sant Antoni

Is the biggest market of the zone and it has a lot of different products. You will feel like a Barcelona customer because local people are used to buy some stuff there. It’s similar to La Boqueria but it used to be visited more by local people. You can find almost everything there from food to stamps or books.

Seriously, you CAN’T imagine how many great places you can find in Poble Sec to stay there, order a coffee and see the people over their big windows. Time goes so fast when you are in one of these cafes. You can go for breakfast; brunch, dinner… whenever you want it’s going to be full, so keep it in mind. Some of our favorites are Federal CaféTarannà or Zuckerhaus.

Theaters

Nightlife is also strength in Poble Sec. There are a lot of cocktails bars, restaurants and theaters around the main avenue “Paral·lel”. El Molino, which is a historical theater in the city for their cabaret shows, is still working and is in undergoing renovations. And we can’t forget El Teatre Apolo with a lot of shows during all the year.
