“Perfect for a city trip!”
We have booked the Hotel Arc La Rambla in April for 2 nights and took the Superior Room. As we arrived the reception was friendly and we could check-in very quickly. Luckily, the reception lady told us, that we've been upgraded because of the change of the rates in the meantime... it turned out that we received the Junior Suite, which was awesome! A big entrance room, a seating area for watching TV, a balcony & a huge bathroom - perfect!

The hotel has a very good location, right on La Ramla, which is the main promenade of Barcelona. So you are in the middle of everything. It's only a 5 minutes walk to the beautiful port! Very stunning... at the port you can find the shopping mall "Maremagnum", which is very nice. A lot of restaurants, shops, cafés & seating areas are inviting to spend time there.

Back in the hotel, we started to have problems with our flight back - it was cancelled because of the volcano and noone knew, when the next flight will leave from Barcelona. So we were depended on the reception and had to clarify if there is a possibility for us to stay. The staff was very friendly and blocked us the room for 2 more nights for the time being. It turned out, that after 2 more nights we stil had no flight back... so we had to hope another time, that the hotel can let us keep the room - but it was no problem at all! Finally, we ended up 6 nights at the hotel instead of 2 and we had a very pleasent stay.

The hotel is totally recommandable for a city trip and people, that generally want to spend their time with sightseeing and walking around all day. It is not a hotel to spend a lot of time - and it's important to make sure to book at least one category over the Standard Room, because they are really tiny and compared to the rest of the rooms not likeable at all!

+At the heart of life in barcelona. right next to metro, ramblas restaurants/shopping/bars. near the sea, cheap, airey, friendly staff. normally i have to say i dont fill in these responses but i saw a few negative remarks for this hotel and really its quite perfect (if you arnt american). it a european hotel so it hasnt got six double beds in the room, the breakfast is well, european and an extra, and the layout isnt 'just build'. if you want the bulk standard manufactured hilton, nh etc do that but this really is a good reasonably priced hotel. i travel practically every week and if im in barcellona i would defintly stay here again
-Carpet in communal areas / paintwork could do with a refresh

+Perfectly located in the heart of the famous pedestrianised La Rambla ideal for great restaurants. Close to historic places of interest and shopping. Metro on doorstep. Hotel is spotlessly clean, modern and staff are friendly and helpful.
-La Rambla is hectic and goes on late into the 'early hours'. It can be noisy if windows are left open.

“FANTASTIC.....Will be returning”
Just got back from a two night stay here and had a great time. We were upgraded to a "superior" room when we arrived which got me very excited....until I saw the room! Tiny is about as good as it gets but we were so pleased with it. It was clean, smelled really nice, had a safe and a decent sized closet space. Yes, this hotel will always win on location as it is right on Las Ramblas but it also has great Wi Fi, lovely little breakfast (please dont expect egg and bacon!!! Toast, rolls, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, ham and cheese), and a safe 24hr reception who make you feel welcome and are very helpful. It is easy to get to from the aeroport and is just outside Dressandres station. Las Ramblas itself is not as long as I expected and be careful if you have a drink at any of the outside cafes on the main strip....they are EXPENSIVE!!!!!! 20 euros for a jug of sangria and 8 euros for a beer!!!!! Be warned, but all in all this hotel is perfect for a short stay in Barcelona and the cable car ride up to the castle is worth it as is the tour of the football stadium.....I hate football and went with my partner and by the end of it wished we were there for a match!

The location was excellent, right on the La Rambla street and close to a metro station. I had easy access to any where I went for sightseeing. You have access to free bottles of water and apples on the ground floor, which was very convenient, and was thoughtful of the hotel. The room was kept clean to the highest standard, and was equipped with basic things: TV, telephone, hair dryer, amenities, air-conditioning/heater and free wi-fi. The bathroom was spacious.
I had a problem with the heater, which did not work well, and the phone. But the hotel responded promptly when I mentioned about these, and fixed them the following day. The noise from other rooms were loud, especially when someone is walking in high heels, and frequently disturbed my sleep. The hotel might want to consider putting carpets in all rooms so that it will take away the noise.

+ We arrived at 11:30 pm, exhausted from our trip from Pittstburgh, via paris, and were greeted by the young lady at the desk with a marvelous smile, and a welcoming manner. We had no trouble checking in, and were asleep within the hour. At 12:10 pm the next afternoon, we were awakened by the desk, saying didn't you want to checkout today? (before noon!) So we hustled , were packed and out in 10 minutes. The desk showed us some lockers in the back of the lobby where we could store our luggage while we toured the city before we had to catch the ship. It was a thoroughly delightful stay at your hotel, and I would love to return and stay longer.
-It would have helped a great deal if there were bellboys available to carry luggage.

Great location, close to everything
Everything about the hotel was great including a minor problem which they willingly fixed immediately. We stayed there both before and after a cruise because of the great location, near everything we wanted to see and very close to the cruise line. Staff also recommended some fine restaurants nearby. I recommend you stay at this hotel. I will whenever I return to Barcalona.

“Great Location, Great Value”
The hotel itself is nothing special, basic rooms & the balcony was tiny (could stand but not sit, certainly no room for table & chairs). We found the staff expremely nice, the wireless internet was free & fast (we used our Vonage phone over the wireless & had no quality issues when calling back to Canada) and had no problems getting around in English. It did take a couple of trys to get the shower door not to leak, but once we got the hand of it there were no further leaks.
But as with real estate, its location-location-location ... <1 block from a metro station, walking distance to many historic sits, close to several 'touristy' resturants but many 'local' resturants off the main streets, and the Boquiero market is only a few blocks away.
La Rambla is a busy street, so there is going to be noise well into the night, but we still slept with our window open.
Breakfast was nothing special, especially with the Boquiero market so close, but it was convienent to just pop down & plot out the day over a several coffees and some toast.
And at 119€ per night, with it location it was great value.
It was our first trip to Barcelona, we can't wait to get back & would likely be staying at Hotel Arc La Rambla again.
